Let the Madness Begin…

| March 18, 2010 | 4 Comments

T-minus 5 hours until March Madness begins. This week is probably my least productive week all year long. I usually spend the entire week filling out my bracket, submitting vacation requests for Thursday/Friday, talking about the tournament seeding/matchups with my coworkers and finalizing weekend plans with my buddies. You might as well dress up a Muppet in some Croft and Borrows and sit him at my desk…the productivity will be about the same.

I’m guessing other fans like myself may take sick days…errr, I mean vacation days…on Thursday or Friday to watch their alma mater. If they don’t, they’re probably watching or following the games online and not doing their work. I know I’m guilty.

If there is a sporting event that deserves it’s own holiday, it’s March Madness. So, let me propose this…March Madness Half-Day Holidays. How about giving the employees half a day off on Thursday and Friday of the first weekend? They do this kind of stuff all the time in Europe for the World Cup.

Anyways, below are a few of our predictions for the NCAA tournament. Let us know your predictions. It may be difficult to read…I prepared it on an Excel spreadsheet at work. I had to make management think I was working hard.

Nice little bracket so far, LaceDarius. I hope you're right with MSU making another Final Four run.
