Unofficial Detroit Lions (Detroit Pride) Cheerleaders Pics

The Detroit Lions have been rather pathetic since their inception in 1934.  For the better part of 76 years, they haven’t played good football and for the entire 76 years, they have disallowed cheerleaders.  While nobody knows if they’ll decide to start playing good football, the team has decided to start allowing cheerleaders into Ford Field.

The cheerleaders will not actually be “official” Detroit Lions cheerleaders, but instead are dubbed the “Detroit Pride”.  The Pride won’t be your typical cheerleaders either.  For starters, they won’t actually be on the field.  The Lions aren’t going to let them wear team colors or logos.  And, they’re forbidden from blocking the fans’ view of the field, take group pictures with fans or perform organized cheers.  So basically, these lovely women are there to provide a getaway from an otherwise tough to watch football-viewing experience.  Not bad, huh?  I’ll be making my way down to the box office.  And after taking a gander at these, you will be too…

Here, a local radio host interviews Heather. She just became the leader in the Sunny D clubhouse. Hi, Heather.

If only the cheerleaders were part of the team, the Lions would be Super Bowl bound!
