Michigan State to play North Carolina on Aircraft Carrier on 11/11/11

It has been no secret that Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis and head coach Tom Izzo are always up for new playing environments.  Well, it appears they are taking their interests to a new stage – a huge stage.
Two years ago, Hollis spoke at a press conference about wanting to play a game on an aircraft carrier.  It seems those wishes are in the works to become reality.

Nothing has been made official, but judging by the new image on the floor at the Breslin Center, the cat is out of the bag.  Expect an announcement any day now by the Michigan State athletic department about a matchup against Roy Williams and North Carolina on an aircraft carrier.

It’ll be interesting to see if the game will be played on a top deck or a hangar.  A game on the deck would be incredible.

I (re)broke this story about 2 weeks ago, but Izzo basically down-played it to reporters later that day. I think they just want to officially announce it on their own time, but it's weird to put the logo on the floor before the announcement.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they keep hinting to it, but haven't announced anything. Maybe State has a deal in place with the government (I presume), but the opponent is still in question or something.

Even if, it's odd that they would put this on the floor.
