Parking Ramp Rage – East Lansing, MI

With Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State football team likely to be held out of a BCS bowl because of a BS BCS rule, students in East Lansing are feeling fiesty.  They’re looking to take out their Rose Bowl rejection frustration on anyone and everyone.  Road rage’s cousin, parking ramp rage, reared its ugly head at the Communication Arts & Science ramp yesterday.  IASID has pictures…

The prelude — My that’s a big red truck.  We’ll call him Clifford.

Scene I — Great parking spot, it’s almost like Clifford got valet parking on his way to class.  But wait a minute, isn’t Clifford parked across the walkway lines?  I wonder if anyone is going to have an issue with this (we call this foreshadowing)…

Scene II — From afar, it looks like a fellow student did take exception.  Is that a note?

Scene III — It sure is a note.  In a totally passive aggressive way, the aggressor decided to leave the note on the parking sign instead of (oh, I don’t know) ON CLIFFORD’S WINDSHIELD!

Scene IV — The Note — Wow.  Read below and then come back.  Notice the irony.  The writer (we’ll call him the note-leaver) is complaining about Clifford saving a few “steps of walking” by needing to park this close to the stairwell.  The note-leaver is angry.  Why?  Because said Clifford parking in said spot increases his “steps of walking” by a few.

Scene V — The Response — Clifford apparently belongs to an East Lansing elementary school student.  A fight at the bike rack?  What?  You can’t make up stuff this bad.

Scene VI — The Encounter

Scene VII — The Letdown — Fine, the encounter didn’t really occur.  We had cameras and reporters on the scene, but nothing happened.  Clifford’s threats were too much for the note-leaver.  The note-leaver was probably at Office Depot purchasing another ink cartridge.  We won’t be able to sleep tonight in anticipation of the next note.

  1. Bush says:

If Clifford the Big Red Truck is a repeat offender at this fake parking spot, I find it hard to believe that PACE hasn't ticketed the heck out of him.
