Lancaster Barnstormers’ Butch Hobson gets tossed, autographs first base

Now Jim Leyland’s circus act from Monday night makes sense.  He was trying to out-do Lancaster Barnstormers’ manager Butch Hobson over the weekend.  Reacting to Gilberto Mejia getting called out on a close play at first base, Hobson made it his job to reward a lucky, but confused fan.  The Barnstormers play in the independent Atlantic League where guys are playing to make a name for themselves – no matter what they have to do.

Shockingly enough, this isn’t Hobson’s first rodeo. He has experience in stealing bases.  This is back in 2007 when Hobson managed the Nashua Pride.

What I find amazing is that someone is actually broadcasting this level of baseball. That's awesome.
