Andy Roddick was displeased with U.S. Open court conditions

Before his fourth round match against David Ferrer, Andy Roddick threw a mini hissy fit over the conditions of the court at Louis Armstrong Stadium. There was a crack in the court that Roddick pointed out to chair umpire Carlos Bernardes. After days of rain, there was water seeping up through the crack that Roddick obviously saw, but officials weren’t sold at first.

Roddick was caught on ESPN cameras complaining,

“It’s coming up from underneath, and I’m really starting to get pissed. How hard is it to not see water? What are we doing here?”

The match was eventually moved to Court 13, with stands that resembled a small rural high school football stadium.  Louis Armstrong Stadium holds roughly 10,100 fans.  Court 13 holds a whopping 584.  The water may have fired up Roddick as he beat Ferrer in four sets 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
