Catch of the year?
It’s a little precocious to nominate a catch in the first weekend of the college football season as the catch of the year, but this one will be up there. Ohio $tate true freshman Evan Spencer showed off his hops and leaped over the centerfield wall to rob a home run. That’s what it looked like anyway. Spencer hauled in a throw from the Buckeyes backup quarterback Braxton Miller along the sidelines and managed to get the obligatory one foot in bounds.
See, told you.

O-H-I-O
Proud To Be A Buckeye
Made against what team? No definitely not the catch of the year against a nobody!
rob what does that have to do with anything you idiot. the catch itself was incredible, that's all that counts
We are The Ohio State Buckeyes!
What does a catch have to do with who you're playing, Rob?
Nope. Top play is UCLA's Nelson Rosario's catch against UH:

Is a great catch no matter who they played.
Ohio State Who ????
It surprises me that FOX SPORTS even put this play on their web site because they are so ANTI-OHIO STATE.
rob you suck
@rob If I kick a 75 yard FG against 1 player of THE WORST TEAM EVER, the fact remains that I KICKED A F*CKIN 75 YARD FG!!THAT CATCH WAS AWESOME!!
4th and 10 from the 25 yd line…0.01 second left on the clock. The away team QB takes the snap outta shotgun…rolls left…rolls right…breaks a tackle…rolls back left and throws a strike, high and toward the back of the end zone! His WR elevates over two defenders and catches the ball right in the chest to win the rivalry game which determines who plays for a national championship! OK…the Ohio state catch above is far more impressive and with a higher level of difficulty. But as good as it is, I get what Rob is saying. It was against "who", nobody… and "what was on the line?", nothing! In fact, the back up QB was in! Great catch…but definately won't be the "Catch of the year!" PS: That catch in the UCLA game by Nelson Rosario Catch was even more difficult!
I bet that was worth a $500 handshake.
It doesn't matter who you're playing or how difficult the catch was. This is labeled CATCH of the year. Not PASS of the year, so quarterback involvment doesnt matter. I'd love to see anybody posting comments on here try to display the athleticism it takes to make an incredible catch like that. I'm not a buckeye fan but anybody that has every caught a football knows a great catch when he sees it.
NO WAY. Anybody-even Uncle Miltie, can make a great catch in the backyard messing around with the kids. If THE ohio state (always wondered what they felt they were special about until it was discovered it was cheating) had the guts to play somebody then this could be considered a great catch. No pressure situation, heavily favored against a weak sister opponent (that they play EVERY year) during the ensuing laughable blowout…..nice try THE (I even think its funny singing these cheaters out like his now) ohio state fan, but NO WAY.
OK Uncle Miltie name me one school just one that does not play a tune-up game (that's actually a rhetorical question because I know you can't).
Further more it does not matter who you are playing it was still an awesome catch. Like the above poster said a 75 yard kick is a 75 yard kick. It's the play that's impressive and not who they were playing against.
