Rafael Nadal cramps up during post-match press conference

It’s not uncommon for a cramp to cause an athlete to topple over and lay on the playing surface. Usually a trainer or two will run out and start stretching the athlete’s leg and rub out the knot. But when an athlete cramps up in the interview room, there is no playing surface to fall to or trainers with magic hands.

Rafa Nadal sat in his hot seat in pain following his three set win over David Nalbandian 7-6, 6-1, 7-5
. CBS cut to the scene. Nobody knew what was going on at first, but it was obvious (you’ll see) that it was not muy bien.

Thankfully for him, it was only a cramp and Nadal will be ready for his next match. Afterwards, CBS analyst Mary Jo Fernandez caught up with Nadal, who laughed it off.
