Western Michigan hockey’s "Double One-Timer" goal
It isn’t often that you can actually see a set play develop in hockey. But, if you watch closely, you can see what the Western Michigan Broncos (who are wearing white) are trying to create here. On the power play in a recent game against Notre Dame, the Broncos set up a fake one-timer.
The play starts at the near point with winger Shane Berschbach. He and defenseman Dennis Brown pass the puck back and forth to let defenseman Matt Tennyson get into position. When Tennyson was set, Berschbach passes the puck toward Brown, who fakes a one-time but instead lets the puck go between his legs to Tennyson. Tennyson obviously needs to get good wood on the shot and he obviously did. It’s one of the better set ups you’ll see in hockey.
