Michael Bourn and Brian McCann botch a high five

Brian McCann is a good enough hitter than he hit a Roy Halladay cutter (that didn’t cut) 400 feet for a grand slam.  Brian McCann is not a good enough high-fiver to harmonize on a double high-five with teammate Michael Bourn.  Notice Bourn’s left hand.

And here I thought baseball was a game of pre-plannned coordinated handshakes.  Somewhere Walter Payton and every other player in Tecmo Bowl are shaking their heads.

The result:

McCann went into the Braves clubhouse after walking into the dugout, but stayed in the game.

Update:  Per David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, McCann suffered a scratch on the outside of his eye.  A doctor prescribed him drops that he will use to play through it.
