Tampa Bay Rays honor FOX’s Ken Rosenthal and dress like nerds
Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon likes to have fun. He keeps as loose a clubhouse as there is in baseball. For roadtrips he’ll throw out themes that call for the players to alter their normal wardrobe. This time around they geeked out on their trip to Boston. Their aim – to pay tribute to FOX’s senior baseball writer Ken Rosenthal and his charities. Rosenthal is known for his bowties. Along with dressing up, the Rays will make a donation to charities that Rosenthal supports. NERD ALERT!
The Rays currently sit at 27-18, one game behind the Orioles for first place in the AL East. There’s no debate that Maddon’s loose demeanor has played a large role in the Rays success over the past handful of years.
