Note: this happened back in January, but it still deserves a heavy chorus of boo’s…

The world has many issues at play with this story: a recession, eBay scams and the plague that is Tim Tebow fandom.  A “CarlSpackler76″ conned a poor soul from Roanoke, Virginia into paying $85 + $14.99 for shipping and handling for a burnt grilled cheese that had a likeness of Tim Tebow “Tebowing” or praying on the football field.

The sandwich, posted on eBay as ”The Grilled Tebow” received 46 bids before the lunatic from Roanoke decided he wanted to get burnt.

The description listed on eBay was about as believable as someone actually bidding on a burnt piece of toast.

While hastily making lunch today, I slapped together two slices of bread and some cheese for the old standby of the grilled cheese sandwich.  I’ll freely admit I was a bit sloppy with my butter application and this sandwich was not going to be my best work.  I’ll also admit my frying pan is crappy and distributes heat very poorly, so I was not exactly expecting a work of art for a sandwich

However, upon flipping the sandwich, I was thoroughly amazed by the image staring back at me … the now iconic “Tebowing” pose of Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow

I don’t care how the seller faked this burned image into the piece of bread. Somebody bought it. Somebody bought it. Somebody bought it! That, my friends, is the absolute pits. Somebody paid $99.99 for a piece of toast with an image of Tim Tebow “burned” into it. Continue to marinate on that…and then maybe pull a shirt out of your washing machine with an “unintentional” yet perfect bleach stain of Tebow square in the middle of it.

Let’s start the bidding at $45.
