As Team USA ramps up to destroy other countries’ best basketball players, they have been taking on the USA Men’s Select team, a group of NBAers not worthy of being on Team USA.  You wouldn’t think a team made up of lesser players could compete with the best of the best, but there has been talk of some even-up scrimmages over the past week.

The most talented player on the Selects team is Cleveland Cavaliers second-year guard Kyrie Irving.  Irving, a future NBA star, is as talented as he is confident.  His confidence boiled over recently as he was taped challenging Kobe Bryant to a game of one-on-one.  You might remember Irving as “Uncle Drew” in his extremely entertaining Pepsi Max video.  Unlike Uncle Drew, there was no slow rolling by Irving with Kobe.  He wasn’t shy about putting it all on the table even offering to pony up $25,000 for Kobe’s charity.

The exchange reminds you of a little brother egging on the big brother to play a game.  Big brother Kobe insists he’ll win and Irving shoots back that he isn’t some random high school kid (Irving is two years removed from high school).

Notice how they never actually played. Did tittle brother’s exuberance cause the big brother to back off?
