adidas releases (hideous) alternate Notre Dame football uniforms
Tradition has been the name of the game in South Bend, well that and bowl losses (they have won two of their last 12 bowl games). But adidas threw tradition out the window with Notre Dame’s new alternate football uniforms. Is adidas mocking the Nike Pro Combat uniforms that have been hotter than the sun the past couple years? Did adidas let a three year old monkey design these things?
They feature an asymmetrical helmet, the Irish’s normal navy, a yellowy garbage-y gold and a whole lot of ugly. I can’t believe the ND athletic department signed off on these. And I don’t believe the Notredame Broadcasting Company will let these on television. Is it all a bad joke? I’m not sure.
The Irish are set to wear these uniforms October 6th against Miami, FL in Soldier Field.

There is nothing wrong with this uniform. It is a one off uniform that the players will probably love. The football tradition at Notre Dame has been pretty bland and low achieving, why not spice things up?
i agree…in honestly dont see anything wrong with this uniform…i actually like their traditional uniforms though…as i am a fan of penn state and alabama’s traditional uniforms…it’s too bad more schools dont keep the old traditions alive. anywho…this uniform isnt horrible…it’s much better than some of the new releases and much better than well over half of oregon’s uniforms
Check your vision…. Those uniforms are a monstrosity. I would take Oregons any day.
The helmet is ridiculously stupid. The jersey is fine, the pants are fine.

Using uniform changes for publicity and recruiting is just so stupid and such a waste of time. I know everyone talks about blue turf at Boise State and Oregon. There’s evidence that those changes improved their programs but the best of the best, the most elite programs haven’t done anything with their uniforms: Alabama, USC, Texas, Florida, and LSU are all wearing pretty much the exact same stuff they’ve always worn.
This uniform is just like the ND football program…….A joke…..
I consider this a cry for help……. Very sad.
Shamrock series uniform sucks, fans should not attend game, Adidas rep should be fired. They are hideous.
