Chicagoland-area high school senior Jabari Parker is the crown jewel of the 2013 recruiting class for college basketball.  Every program and their brother has offered Parker a scholarship (and other things, I’m sure), but only one program pulled out a homemade music video for him.  Parker is said to be considering Michigan State, Duke, Stanford, Florida and BYU.  BYU students put on the full-court press for Parker this past Saturday when he made his official visit to campus.  More than 6,000 fans sported “Chicago to Provo” t-shirts during BYU’s game against Cal State Northridge.

Parker is a 6’8″, 225 pound small forward who was given the National Freshman, Sophomore and Junior of the Year awards by ESPN each of the past three years.  This year, Gatorade named him their National Player of the Year.

And now they have made a music video based off Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”  Creative?  Kinda.  The execution?  Money.  Will it affect Parker’s decision?  Not at all.

The word from recruitniks is that Duke currently leads the race for Parker, but many believe that Michigan State is still very much in it. BYU is still in contention because Parker was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints…that and their creative recruiting tactics (not really).
