Obnoxious high school football entrance (VIDEO)

I’ve never been to Hawaii, so I don’t know exactly “how it is there.”  But, I have seen the Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style made-for-TV movie several times, I pretty much know “how it is there.”

Women in grass skirts, luaus, people buying Kelly Kapowski’s grandpa’s hotel and terribly obnoxious high school football entrance routines.  It’s one thing to see droves of women choreographing dances to be performed in hula skirts.  It’s another to imagine how long this high school team (Moanalua High School) worked on this crazy entrance.  The tradition has been passed down through the years apparently, so I’m not sure you can blame the current kids.

No, you can blame the current kids.  Traditions, smiditions.

I think these young men are very talented and smart. I have them on my team if I were a coach.
I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I’ve seen a story on TV about their football program. Several players have become professional players on the ‘main’ land.
This group of young men have shown they ARE a team by spending hours, more than likely in their spare time, to get their entrance routine down.
I feel the person who wrote the article has been very unfair with his comments. Just because this team opens their game a little different than what he’s used to, does NOT mean they are being ridiculous.
Our teams run through large hoops covered with paper made by the cheerleaders, which some times the players can’t break through or they fall down causing a pile up. I’m sure that’s not good for their self esteem.
So, Mr. Writer take a lesson from my mother: If you can’t say anything nice, DON’T SAY ANYTHING!
    Shame, shame on you.

I actually attend this high school, what you said made me really happy. I can’t believe people think our football entrance is obnoxious, it’s actually pretty motivating and gets home team pumped up for the game…. our high school is actually one of the best public schools in the state..

I played on this football team when we did this and honestly it only took us 10-15 minutes to learn it AFTER practice. Our team record for the past years have been really good, so for us to pump up the crowd with an entrance and back it up with the way we play is well earned.

I think it is great. Obnoxious??? Are you kidding? It is all in fun, nothing wrong with the entrance at all. I wish more schools would do something like this. It was not in bad taste at all.

I think it’s cool and great. Every school and person can has their own style and I don’t know why the author even wasted the time to write things so negatively about this. Have to bring this to you Mr. Author, Shame on you! Shame on you AGAIN for not even showing your name on your writings. No class.

The person who made this is probably obnoxious… and fat. These high school kids are entertaining with their entrance. I’d go to every home game if i could, but i’m from Kahuku, so i gotta support da big red! But anyway, i dont see anything wrong with this entrance.
