Detroit Mercy ball boy taunts ejected Valpo player (GIF)

The hot rivalry between Detroit Mercy and Valparaiso continued Thursday night at Calihan Hall on UDM’s campus.  The game included a blown 22-point lead by Detroit, a few showtime dunks by the Titans’ Doug Anderson and a incredibly dirty foul by Valpo’s by Bobby Capobianco that sent him to the showers early.

Anderson picked a Valpo player’s dribble at half court mid-way through the second half and was sizing up a windmill jam when Capobianco came from behind with a clothesline type move right out of WWE.  After a brief review at the monitor, officials quickly tossed him.  It was pure thuggery and got the attention of everyone at Calihan Hall, including veteran ball boy Trey.

Trey has been a ball boy/floor mopper-upper for a couple years now and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to taunt Capobianco as he was escorted out of the gym.

Well job, young man.  You deserve a boost in your allowance.

Valpo came back to win the game 89-88, but Trey certainly won the night.

The great part about it was that the entire student section was doing pretty much the same thing that Trey was doing….

    Go Titans

  2. Don G. says:

A few seconds later, the student section chanted – “Trey, Trey, Trey, Trey, Trey.”
