If you haven’t heard that #1 Duke fell hard Wednesday to #25-ranked Miami, you need to find a new news outlet.  The 90-63 debacle was over for Duke within minutes of the tip.  At one point midway through the first half, Miami went on a 25-1 run and they led 42-19 at the half.

Miami’s starting five was able to do anything they wanted against Duke’s defense.  The five combined to shoot 31 for 49 (63%) from the field, including 9 for 17 (53%) from three-point range.  With two minute and change left in the game, ESPN’s Dick Vitale finally decided he had had enough of Duke’s atrociousness.

Not only did Miami break Duke Wednesday, but they also broke Mr. Vitale.  And yes, we’re absolutely positive that ESPN was not having an issue with the feed.

For those scoring at home, Vitale said “layup” a total of nine times in 11 seconds. Vitale’s partner, play-by-play guy Dan Shulman, was about to call the medics.
