Coaches are always preaching that the ball moves more quickly with the pass and that making the extra pass can lead to an open shot.  This Russian coach practiced what he preached here.  Gundars Ventra, head coach of the Unics Kazan of the Russian Professional Basketball League, was strolling the sidelines unguarded during a recent game against Spartak Vladivostok.

Unics Kazan had a shooter open in the corner and instead of using the skip pass, they chose to swing it, which included hitting a wide-open Ventra on the wing.

Leave it to a Russian coach to draw up a play to get himself involved.  In his defense, he swung it like he belonged and hit the shooter with a nice chest-high pass.
