Kentucky commit James Young (Rochester, MI) jumps over defender for alley oop (VIDEO)

In three years time, James Young will have gone from Troy High School (MI) to Rochester High School (MI) – nine miles away – to the University of Kentucky (KY) – roughly 400 miles away.

So a four foot vertical leap may not seem like a large distance, except that (a) it is and (b) it really is when you’re jumping over a defender for an alley oop.  In Rochester’s Thursday night game against Avondale High School (MI), Young went up, up and away catching and dunking a lob from a teammate.

Young finished with a meager 43 points, 22 boards, seven assists and seven steals (what, no blocks?) in Rochester’s 78-60 win.

And this isn’t the first time that Young has made a defender wear his dunk. He did this a couple weeks ago at Troy Athens High School.

Thanks to reader Jim for the tip
