Baseball has its first bench-clearing brawl under its belt.  Friday afternoon, UC Riverside and Sacramento State went toe-to-toe.  It started after Riverside baserunner Eddie Young was tagged out during a rundown between second and third.  After Young was tagged by Sac State second baseman Andrew Ayers, he gave an unnecessary Ayers’ wrist.  That led to a shove from Ayers and a haymaker from Young, which Ayers took like an absolute champ.

Here’s video of the melee via KCRATV in Sacramento:

Will Soto, Jr., Sacramento State’s third baseman, tackled Young after Young’s pride was taken after the harmless punch. Both teams swing-danced in the infield for the next 30 seconds or so until order was maintained.

Per NCAA rules, all three will be suspended for the next four games. The two teams play a doubleheader on Saturday before wrapping the series up with a single game on Sunday.
