The West Michigan Whitecaps, the Tigers Single-A team in Comstock Park, MI held their fourth-annual food contest which determines Fifth Third Ballpark’s next extravagant food item.  The winner for 2013: Baco – a taco with a bacon shell.  It basically looks like a BLT minus the bread and mayonnaise (yay), so it’s a win-win for carb-counters, right?

The team received over 150 submissions from fans before narrowing it to the ten “best” options.

The Baco received 30% of the online votes, while second place with 27% of the vote went to The Bad Joke (a corn dog covered in cheese with two strips of duck bacon on a bun). Third place was, a virtual tie between Crash’s favorite snack, Rascal Chow (popcorn, bacon and Reeses) and Teeny Weenies (little hot dogs in mini helmets), with 9% each.

Previous winning delights include: Chicks with Sticks and the Declaration of Indigestion. They’ve since been retired from the menu.

Would you eat a Baco?
